"I recently visited The Diplomat a Mediterranean restaurant with a bar set in a charming saloon-style atmosphere, and it was fantastic. The ambience is inviting and unique, creating the perfect vibe for a relaxed experience. The food was absolutely delicious--full of flavor and authenticity. Every dish exceeded expectations. I'd happily come back again for the wonderful food service and atmosphere !

So I came here for my birthday last year and again this year and wow what a difference a year makes!!!! Seriously....I love the old style decor of the place reminds me of the old style taverns/bars. So let me start with a little honesty...for some odd reason I didn't write a review last year and I would've given it 5 Stars on food and 2.5 on service....it was terrible last year...the staff barely cared about you I felt....full circle my we couldn't think of where to eat for my birthday this year and my friend suggested this place again and the food like I said awesome so I said sure.... Great turn around....Staff was attentive, friendly and so I had to find the owner Joey before I left and I told him my experience from this year to last year..... Now back to the food...oh man the fried cauliflower for some reason just tasted so much better this time not sure what or why....overall though the food was just as great as I remember me not eating meat got the Falafel Platter again....and definitely will get it again! I didn't get any drinks this time...but since it is so close to where I work I will definitely come again! I didn't eat the Cod but my friend loved it and she told me she always gets that when she comes here as well... Thanks again for the wonderful bday dinner and definitely will be back!!!!

I love Mediterranean food and this spot is soooo yummy and delicious! Literally can order food from here everyday. Chicken Sharma wrap is my go to & their Arugula salad is so yummy and refreshing! Def. A must try! Parking: street metered parking / parking lots around the area.

Service was good and we sat outside because we had a dog but the inside had plenty of space to sit and ambiance was a little dark and bar like. I got the beef Greek salad and beef was tender but a bit chewy and dressing and light and refreshing. I also tried some chicken kabob which was a bit dry. Rice was very flavorful and cooked well

Celebrated my best friend's birthday with dinner Thursday evening 6-20-24. Service was beyond amazing. Food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the Diplomat. Ambiance was elegant and very clean.

Came back here to celebrate a birthday and they gave a small baklava with a candle for the birthday boy. Service and food is great as always. Feel price is reasonable here and meats were juicy and tender. We got tons of appetizers to share but these are the notable ones. Jajike Tzatziki - Yogurt and pita bread this is delicious and refreshing. (4.5/5) Garlic Fries - Fries loaded with spices and garlic. Simple and delicious. (4.5/5) Grape leaves - Some people enjoyed this and some didn't. I like it, was like mushy rice. (4/5) Makanek - Little sausages packed with flavor. If you like sausages you'd prob like this. (4.5/5) Combo for 2 - Comes with good portion of meat to share. Good value for $32. Meat was all tender and juicy. (4.5/5) Overall great experience for any occasion. Food here seemed healthy and also the drinks looked good. Only negative I'd say was there was a bunch of flies coming in but that's just because the door kept being swung open. Had a reservation for large party (7) on Sunday but don't think it was needed, the restaurant had plenty of seats. Parking is easy with many nearby lots and street parking.

We had an early Mother's Day celebration at the Diplomat. The vibe is laid lack, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the filet Greek salad. The filet was flavorful and really tender. I also had an old fashioned and it was strong. Service was good. Plenty of parking around the area. I love the old town Monrovia area.

3/19/24 Another One !!!! This was a frequent spot would always go to when lived in Monrovia. Been going since they opened. Got to know owners very well and the whole staff! Always took care of us. Love them . Food / Drinks /Ambiance is amazing . Always lively and chill vibe no matter what day . One of the a best Burnt Old Fashioned I have had . My fav here. Our Server Stephanie she was amazing and very attentive to our needs and took care of everything perfectly . Had the Hummus , garlic fries , spicy lebni, potato boreg and beef shawarma . Always soooo good . Highly highly recommended. Everyone enjoyed their food . Always a good time and everything has been sooo good . Love this place . It's the family spot we like to go to. If around town try them out ! Enjoy !!!!
